ROOD BRIDGE PUBLISHING RELEASES "DO YOU, RACHEL,
TAKE RANCHING FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE?"
Hillsboro, OR -- Rood Bridge Publishing announces the release of Do You,
Rachel, Take Ranching for Better or for Worse?, with illustrations by horseshoer, Larry
Davis of Bend, Oregon. An autobiographical account of her ranching experiences,
Northwest author Rachel Klippenstein gives readers humorous accounts of ranching
life.
A resident of Hillsboro, Oregon, Klippenstein captures the behind the scenes
aspects of ranch life in fifty short essays: from milking a cow with mastitis to gambling
with alfalfa seed.
"Humor brings perspective to our lives," says Klippenstein.
Do You, Rachel, Take Ranching for Better or for Worse" is Klippenstein's
second book. She's written several humorous stories for livestock publications and is
currently writing her third nonfiction book dealing with the ranching life. Klippenstein
also contributed to a High Plains women's anthology, Leaning into the Wind, released
June, 1997 by Houghton-Mifflin.
Recently laid off from her job as a receptionist at a Portland advertising firm,
Klippenstein plans to spend more time writing -- glancing occasionally at the sign on the
cork board above the computer, DULL WOMEN HAVE IMMACULATE HOMES.
See sample story, Udder Nonsense.

Testimonials:
"This book could be placed on the list of treatments for all grouches. If you were raised
in an agricultural community or have been in the livestock business for as little as ten
days, odds are that you will identify with these stories. Here is an opportunity to laugh
at one of your embarrassing moments, or experiences, but allow Rachel to be the
victim." T.D. "Dusty" Rich, Ph.D., Beef Nutritionist, Albuquerque, NM
"Rachel Klippenstein has an intriguing way of taking the every-day ranching encounters
and adventures and exposing them for their belly-laughs and heart-breaks. Even the
non-ranching reader can relate to the hilarious, sublime, tender and catastrophic
experiences every ranching couple experiences." Ed Bible, Editor, Hereford World,
Kansas City, MO
"Marvelous reading for the cattle ranching family! Lots of chuckles, lots of laughs, lots of
realness from a city girl getting in the cattle business with ranching, alfalfa, cattle
shows, bull sales, and the management of domestic affairs. This is must reading for
folks who have grown up in the cattle industry." Patrick K. Goggins, Publisher, Western
Livestock Reporter, Billings, MT.
